SphereMD has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic team player to join our innovative medical practice as a Medical Care Coordinator. As we continue to grow, we are looking to add to the team an organized, reliable person to provide medical case management and excellent customer service.

Job Duties

The Medical Care Coordinator schedules and coordinates medical, dental, and emergency care for crew members aboard ships who are traveling to the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Panama. We coordinate care for patients remotely from our corporate office in Portland, Oregon.

Our coordination is full-service, meaning our team secures all arrangements including immigration formalities, transportation, appointments, pharmacy, required documentation, and more. Each case is materially different, ranging from treatment of a common cold to a rare infectious disease.

We are looking for an individual who is energetic, highly organized, detail oriented, and able to navigate an extremely fast paced and often stressful environment. A person who can switch from one task to another and prioritize effectively, all while maintaining a friendly professional demeanor.

We are looking for a candidate that is comfortable with receiving, retaining, and documenting complex information. A person that strives to learn new things. Above all, we are looking for a self-motivated, persistent, high energy, multi-tasker.

Skill Requirements

Skills Required

  • Enjoy working with various personalities and cultures

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Strong listening and retention skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Team-oriented, able to work with others to develop a plan / solution
  • Ability to utilize traditional office equipment, such as a computer, copier, fax machine, and multi-extension telephone
  • Ability to type 50wpm and familiar with MS Office 365
  • Comfortable learning new platforms and databases

Experience Required

  • 3 years of general office experience (in a medical setting preferred)
  • Professional email and written correspondence experience

Preferred Experience

  • QuickBooks experience

Working Conditions
This is a FULL-TIME Monday-Friday position with alternating weekend on-call rotations.

Exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around the office

Salary: $16.00 to $19.00 /hour
