Job Description

Springdale Job Corps is seeking a Nursing Assistant Program Director/Lead Instructor to join a dynamic team of individuals making a difference in the lives of young people. Springdale is a community of 140 residential young adults (16 – 24 years) earning their high school diploma or GED, learning career and technical training, and preparing for their careers. The Health Occupations program offers nursing assistant training within a positive learning environment and utilizing a trauma informed approach to student services. Students attend year round. 

The Nursing Assistant Program Director/Lead Instructor will provide oversight of the program and is responsible for providing nursing assistant training in compliance with the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) requirements, as well as government and management directives.

Duties:

  • Develop classroom procedures and training methodology to ensure students master OSBN curriculum
  • Ensure that program is in compliance with all OSBN requirements.
  • Act as a Liaison with the OSBN Board related to the program’s continuing compliance with required elements of these rules.
  • Submit program data and required reports to OSBN.
  • Coordinate classroom and clinical sites and activities.
  • Ensure that the classroom, lab and clinical environment is conductive to teaching and learning and that the clinical setting provides an opportunity for the students to perform skills taught in the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate a keen awareness of diverse learning styles and tailor instructional methodology to students using an array of teaching approaches.
  • Motivate and counsel students in the areas of behavior, training, study habits and test preparation.
  • Work with other members of the student’s support and instructional team to provide wrap-around services for student success

Skill Requirements

Must be a Licensed RN in Oregon. Three (3) years of nursing experience, which includes at least one year of experience providing direct care in a licensed nursing facility and one year of one of the following: experience in a nursing facility, experience in staff development, evidence of academic preparation for teaching adults or evidence of equivalent experience. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
