Full-Time Accounting / Auditing Admin / Support Services

Job Description

We looking for an Accounting Specialist to provide support to the accounting department that is necessary for the basic operation of the company.  Candidates should have an understanding of accounting principles and ability to research variances independently and effectively. 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process / enter payables / match purchase orders, solve invoice discrepancies
  • Pay vendor invoices
  • Post customer payments, post cash receipts and prepare deposit
  • Review monthly statements and reports
  • Release orders on credit hold
  • File intent to lien, lien releases and waivers
  • Point of contact for vendor and customer inquiries
  • Set up customer accounts / maintenance on accounts
  • Build customer job files
  • Assist with preparing invoices and statements for mailing
  • Verify / enter monthly credit card statements and expense reports
  • Cover phones for Receptionist: rotating schedule either 12-1 or 4-5
  • Backup Receptionist for vacation and sick days
  • Mail and bank run as needed

  • Data entry skills; 10 key
  • Thoroughness/ attention to detail
  • Work with minimal supervision / problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to produce professional business correspondence
  • Operate office equipment: computers, phones, copiers & fax machine
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • 2 + years accounting and general office experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and employment verifications
  • Position is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
