Looking for a strong leader to join this dynamic team of individuals making a difference in the lives of young people. PIVOT (Partners in Vocational Training Opportunities) is a community of 60 non-residential young adults (16 – 24 years) learning career and technical training, earning their high school diploma or GED, and preparing for their careers. PIVOT teaches independent living skills and focuses on a developing a positive learning environment and utilizing a trauma informed approach to student services. The PIVOT program is located in the Montgomery Park building in Northwest Portland. It’s a satellite center connected to the Springdale Job Corps (Troutdale, OR). The Site Director is responsible for the management of the PIVOT program, in compliance with corporate and government directives. PIVOT’s site consists of 13 staff and the position directly oversees the Program Manager, Health and Wellness department, Career Placement, Records and Administration, Student Recruitment. The position reports to the Springdale Center Director. The ideal candidate will: exercise strong written and oral communication interact effectively with a diverse population lead staff and students using a strengths based approach be familiar with the tenets of Trauma Informed Care effectively balance multiple responsibilities and tasks be resilient, positive and passionate about making a difference in our community Duties: Plan, coordinate and direct the administrative and programmatic activities of the PIVOT program with the end result of success for students and positive performance outcomes for the site. Ensure positive outcomes in the areas of high school completion, trade completion, numeracy and literacy improvements, job placement and wage, long term graduate job retention and wages. Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting the PIVOT program; coordinate with the Springdale center for overall compliance. Oversee outreach and recruitment activities, seek out and engage with community and employer partners in order to increase enrollment and leverage resources to support current students. Provide supervision and positive staff development and coaching, evaluate and monitor staff performance. Develop budgets, monitor and control expenditures, ensure contractual compliance. Participate as an engaged member of the directorial and managerial team of the Springdale/PIVOT Job Corps, and collaborate with Springdale program to leverage resources for students and ensure programmatic consistency.
