Job Description
The Lead PSG Technologist Day/CPAP Clinic Coordinator works under general oversight of the Medical Director. Work schedule is 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily Monday through Friday. He/she must be Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist by the B.R.P.T., and licensed by the State of Oregon. Also must have at least 3 years experience at an A.A.S.M. accredited Lab or Center. A reputable non-accredited Lab or Center is acceptable. Be able to demonstrate knowledge, competency, and ability to perform the following: Polysomnography (PSG), Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), Ambulatory cardio-respiratory screening tests, oximetry and administration of supplemental O2, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP and/or BiPAP®) studies. In addition must understand the diagnoses and treatment options for most sleep disorders. Must be able to take patient vital signs accurately and recognizes cardiac arrhythmia. Has a current Basic Life Support card. Demonstrates organizational, computer, interpersonal and technical skills to complete quality studies in a timely and accurate manner according to Lab standards. Coordinate the Center CPAP clinical services. These services are to include the original equipment set-up with patient education, conduct short term and long term follow-up, maintenance of CPAP data base, and to ensure adequate inventory of CPAP delivery devices/interfaces/accessories.
