Albertina Kerr's Vocational team is seeking an Employment Specialist to coach our Job seekers at their employment site helping them learn their job tasks, relate to their employer and become independent.


• Provide on-site individualized job training and support to the consumers in your caseload at their community-based workplace to assist them in understanding and learning their job duties, responsibilities and policies and procedures (in collaboration with the employer).

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor at each work site and check in regularly with them to make sure any concerns are addressed.

• Develop strategies to assist your case load in building new skills and learning new tasks.

• Work with your team in providing pre-employment training including resume writing; interview skills; act as back up to Kerr vocational team to help participants enhance their job readiness and/or build job skills through volunteering.

• Problem- solve interpersonal issues and poor work behaviors as needed. Consult with your team when needed.

• Interface successfully with your client's employers, supervisors and co-workers

• Daily monitor your client's performance and document his/her progress and activities.
• Generate progress reports about each customer on your caseload for each trimester.
• Work as part of a team to develop and update each individual's support plan

• Provide Job retention assistance/consultation: problem-solving and performance monitoring as needed.


• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years' experience coaching adults with developmental disabilities in an employment setting.
• Ability to pass a criminal history check.
• Basic math skills and basic computer proficiency consistent with requirements to access care plans, communicate by email, make reports, and conduct similar tasks.
• Consistent, punctual attendance to provide in-person supports to people we support.
• Verbal and written English language proficiency sufficient to communicate with people we support, co-workers, and community members.
• Ability to build appropriate relationships and relate effectively with people we support.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to meet agency driving requirements.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
• Adequate visual and auditory sensory capacity to effectively supervise people we support, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to safely perform Oregon Intervention System physical intervention techniques and/or lifting/transferring people as appropriate to program/shift.
• Ability to stand or move about; use of arms raised in an unsupported position; periods of twisting from side to side at the waist; perform similar repetitive hand operations or other fatiguing demands for over five hours per day.

HOURS: Full-time; Weekdays
