Our Employment Path Community Services Program is seeking a creative, energetic professional who can provide support and supervision to individuals in our Volunteer Program.

This Volunteer Program Direct Support Professional is responsible for mentoring and training individuals with disabilities to assist them in maintaining integrated/supported volunteer opportunities in the community. This position takes an active role in the process by providing vocational training and supervision to a small group of individuals learning new job skills at a non-Kerr business worksite.


* Provides participants with vocational support, training and feedback to learn and perform assigned job tasks.

* Ensures that participants are engaged in meaningful work that will advance their knowledge, abilities and skills.

* Works with the volunteer hosts and other staff members to ensure an effective/productive working relationship with the participants.

* Offers suggestions about any needed accommodations for the participants to perform the tasks assigned successfully.

* Addresses problems, negotiates tasks assigned, and/or resolves any challenges that may arise in the working relationships between our participants or the people at the volunteer site.

* Documentation of daily interactions and activities, including monthly reports.

* Responsible for safely transporting our participants to their volunteer work sites.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED; be able to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds consistently throughout the shift; have the ability to relate effectively with the people we serve; be able to respond to crisis situations; and be able to meet agency driving requirements. A criminal background check is required.
